Net.Works

Co-working

Net.Works is a young co-working environment that expresses a contemporary concept, sharing the desk and the experiences with other people, in the heart of London. At Net.Works there is a great sense of community, the space is relaxed and inviting, with such a fresh and vibrant atmosphere.
Studies on how people work and the ideas surrounding flexible working were key to the design. The coffee shop, SL28 is the beating heart of the building, to enable people to meet in a relaxed atmosphere with a sense of being part of an exclusive workplace. There is also a variety of working stations, with various, heights, levels of comfort and lighting to suit all. There are also pockets of similar spaces around the building, which further encourages those in private offices to have these collisions and increases the sense of community.
The concept started by learning about the history and the use of the building. The building was a former bookbinder, so the designers wanted to incorporate that into the interiors. They wanted to create a sort or library/coffee shop feel, a calm and warm environment where people can get lost in their work.
For colour and textures they thought about the great and inspiring stories inside the books that were being bound in this building for over 100 years. This lead to very bright palette, with a large variety of colours that will stand the test of time, like many of the books bound there. The lighting was also key in helping to define the different areas of the space and to create the cosy, warm ‘library’ environment.
